Getting excited!

My sister's ultrasound to find out the sex (and to make sure baby is good and healthy) is on Monday. I'm so excited! I think it would be fun for her to have a little boy since s/he will be so close in age to my boys. But it would also be nice to have a little girl in the family. Either way, I see a shopping trip in the near future. This is really a pointless post...but I just had to get some of the excitement out of me!

The boys

We are going to do some family pictures on Mother's Day, but I decided to get some of just the boys today. Eli refused to smile, and Noah wasn't too impressed either, but we got a couple cute ones :)

An old friend.

This post is mostly for my grandpa's benefit...but this is the freshly painted toy box he made nearly 30 years ago! My sister and I (and then my brother) used it growing up, and we now have it proudly sitting in our living room for Noah and Eli.

He's growing up too fast

It seems like we brought him home from the hospital just yesterday and now he is 17 months old! This past week we moved him to his toddler bed. He is doing great and, while some nights it takes him a little longer to fall asleep, we haven't had any problems with him getting up at night.

He also enjoyed his first ice cream cone this week. It was MESSY, but so much fun to watch.

updates and more pics

Noah is sleeping in his big boy bed tonight! He had a harder time going to sleep, but after some tears he went down just fine! Brandon got the bookcases screwed into the walls yesterday (since Noah is a climber) so hopefully the overnight damage is minimal in his room :)

We took Noah back in to the doc yesterday for another ear infection. So far he is taking his meds ok (we had them flavor it this time). We are just hoping he will not need tubes in the future!

Eli is getting to be a little chunk. He is now the size Noah was at 4 months old! Health-wise he is doing great and has been off the nebulizer for a few weeks now. He is still nursing great, and still refusing to take a bottle, so I have pretty much given up trying and just gotten over my fear of nursing in public. I have a few cute nursing covers that I use, and while I get some stares on occasion it's not as big of a deal as I though it would be for me. I am also very happy to say that Eli is now waking just once a night (for the most part), and I am usually up for only 30-40 minutes to feed him then can get back to bed. So I am sleeping much better!

Jeremy (the little boy I babysit) came back today. While it was nice to take a break from watching him after Eli was born, it was really nice to have him back. I was starting to miss seeing him, and I am sure Noah was missing having his playmate!

Well, that's about all the news I can think of.

Again?

Noah went to bed with a fever again :( I think it's another ear infection. I really really hope he wakes up feeling better!

My B-day party

We got together with a few friends and family for my b-day this evening. I LOVE Dumbo, so Brandon had his friend make this awesome Dumbo cake :) We had a great night hanging out, and Noah always loves seeing Grandma and Grandpa so he had lots of fun too :)

Note to self...

next time, remember to take his shirt off before giving him an oreo :)

Just a few pictures of our recent fishing outing with the boys.

what to do, what to do

I have a climber. Noah has been a climber since he could pull himself up (around 6 months) and I swear he about kills himself just about every day. We are trying to transition him into the toddler bed so Eli can have the crib soon...and since Noah has started trying to figure out how to climb out we figured it was time anyway. So today he napped in his bed and when I heard him playing I went in to get him and found him ON TOP of his dresser. He had used the drawers to make a ladder.

Then while I was cooking dinner I turned around to see him ON TOP of my kitchen counter. He had climbed one of the bar stools to get up there. We live in a condo, and don't have an area for a table so we eat at the counter, so getting ride of the bar stools is really not an option.

I just don't know how to keep him from climbing on things! He already climbs baby gates (or just takes them down since he figured that one out months ago), so gating things off doesn't work. He is most definitely all boy.
