The Park

It has been so nice this week, and since we live just a 5 minute walk to the park we have been getting over there just about everyday. Noah is really enjoying being able to play outside, and I have been enjoying letting him burn off some of his energy!

Tomorrow we are planning on pushing nap time back a bit and taking an after lunch stroll to the ice cream store :)

Brandon's birthday and other updates.

Yesterday was Brandon's 26th birthday. Saturday evening we had a little party for him and his friends, and yesterday he had to work for a few hours, then we hung out at home with the boys.

Friday we took Noah back into the doctor for his ear infection. He was refusing to swallow his medicine (most of it went to the dog who eagerly waited by Noah for each dose ready to lick it up when Noah spit it all out). Friday we decided to let his body try and fight the infection on his own since he was acting fairly normal. Today we took him back in to have them re-checked and the infection is almost gone in both ears.

In other updates...Noah just had a growth spurt and can now reach drawers and tabletops that he used to be unable to reach. Mommy didn't realize how tall he had gotten until he got a knife out of the silverware drawer while mommy was getting lunch ready. Needless to say, we have a lot more toddler proofing to do this week!

Eli is also growing fast! He will be 7 weeks tomorrow and is already filling out his 3 month clothes. He is much bigger than Noah was at this age which actually works out perfectly since (assuming his growth continues as it is) he should be able to fit into all of Noah's 6-12 month summer clothes from last year so we wont have to get anything new for summer!

New pictures

I just realized it has been awhile since I put up new pictures of the boys for our out of town family to see!

Both are doing much better. Eli is just getting breathing treatments as needed (which is now only every day or two). Noah went back in to the doctor Monday for a double ear infection, but is refusing to swallow his medicine so we are going back in tomorrow for a shot of antibiotics unless the ears both look clear. But he is in good spirits, and over the virus he had last week.

Also, Noah is going through a nakie phase...he wants nothing to do with clothing of any kind, which is why he is naked in almost all of the photos.

Home from the doc...again.

We made yet another trip to the pediatrician today, for Noah. He is over the viral junk he had last week, but now has a double ear infection. I feel so bad for my guy! He is being a trooper though...trying so hard to be happy. He really does have the sweetest disposition. So, a round of antibiotics and he should be as good as new. And hopefully he will stay that way for a good long while.

Alright sickies...enough is enough!

Looks like the sickies haven't gotten the hint that they have more than worn out their welcome at my house. Eli is still improving, but Noah has (after having a great weekend) started throwing up, and I'm pretty sure he has an ear infection. He is tugging at his ear and whining and the only other time he has acted like this was with an ear infection. Brandon is also sick now too...I think he has what Eli has. Somehow, I have managed to stay healthy, which is a little surprising as I have been coughed at, thrown up on, had boogers wiped on me, and cuddled some pretty sick kids all week, and on top of very little sleep! But my arsenal of hand sanitizer and wet wipes have been good to me thus far (I just know I am jinxing myself typing this). Hopefully this is the last illness we see in a LONG time at our house!

In happier news, Brandon's pool team got 3rd place in the state championships this weekend. I'm so proud of him! :)

More on the boys

Both boys are on the mend! Noah is pretty much back to his usual self, and finally eating (actually he wont quit eating!). Eli is still coughing, but it is getting better and we have cut down on the nebulizer treatments. We missed all the nice weather last week being stuck inside with the sickies. I am hoping it warms back up soon so we can get out!

Another update on the boys

Both seem to be doing a little better. Noah's fever has gone down from around 104 off meds, to 101-102 off meds, and normal when on motrin/tylenol. He still wont eat anything though, and is getting a little dehydrated (he hasn't eaten in 3 days!) so we will be going back in tomorrow if he doesn't start eating tonight. He is playing today so that is a big change from yesterday when he just slept all day or sat on the couch. We even went outside for a few minutes today to swing on the patio, and play a bit to get some fresh air (which they said would be good for Eli's breathing). Noah seemed to really enjoy it, and Eli slept through it. :)

Eli is also doing better. He still has a nasty cough, but it is improving and overall he seems to be feeling better.

My poor boys!

Eli seems to be making some improvements, but now my Noah is sick! Poor Noah has a high fever, runny nose, and is just miserable looking. He has a little cough, but nothing like Eli's. Noah started with his symptoms yesterday after his nap. I'm not sure how, but somewhere between nursing Eli, doing his treatments, and being up with Noah and trying to get his fever down I managed to get a couple hours of sleep...but could definitely use a nap today!

It has been interesting and challenging learning how to juggle my attention between two sick kiddos!

A little update on Eli

We have had a lot of questions about how Eli is doing so I thought I would do an update here...

Eli had a follow up appointment yesterday, mostly for them to listen to his lungs to make sure there was no pneumonia that was missed, and they sounded good. So, the diagnosis was Bronchiolitis which is a virus that causes the airways leading to the lungs to swell and fill with mucus, which cases breathing troubles. Eli has been getting neubulizer treatments to help, which seem to be making a difference. He is still coughing quite a bit, but seems to be breathing much easier than we was over the weekend. We were also told that the first few days of the cough are the worse, so he should start to improve in the next day or two, but the cough may persist for a week or two. So with the breathing treatments and some extra rest he should be as good as new in a week or two...then maybe Mommy can get some sleep!
