what to do, what to do

I have a climber. Noah has been a climber since he could pull himself up (around 6 months) and I swear he about kills himself just about every day. We are trying to transition him into the toddler bed so Eli can have the crib soon...and since Noah has started trying to figure out how to climb out we figured it was time anyway. So today he napped in his bed and when I heard him playing I went in to get him and found him ON TOP of his dresser. He had used the drawers to make a ladder.

Then while I was cooking dinner I turned around to see him ON TOP of my kitchen counter. He had climbed one of the bar stools to get up there. We live in a condo, and don't have an area for a table so we eat at the counter, so getting ride of the bar stools is really not an option.

I just don't know how to keep him from climbing on things! He already climbs baby gates (or just takes them down since he figured that one out months ago), so gating things off doesn't work. He is most definitely all boy.

Gymnastics (sort of)

I talked Brandon into signing Noah up for tiny tot gymnastics. It is kind of pricey, but I think Noah will really like it, and I am hoping that it will help him to burn off some of his endless energy. The classes are for walkers-2 years of age and teach (or try to teach) direction following, and some basic skills through structured play. Each class also has unstructured play so the kids can all just go wild and have fun on the equipment. I'm really excited about it, and think it will be great for my wild man!

Uh oh...

Noah got himself stuck in a bucket yesterday. And being the nice mommy I am, instead of helping him out right away, I ran for my camera.

Confessions

Some deep dark secrets about myself (that are neither deep, nor dark and are now no longer secret).

I went to the mall today for one thing...to get C batteries for Noah's sound machine he uses at night. I ended up buying a few new things for myself, and probably spent too much, and totally forgot to get the batteries. But if felt really good to actually spend money on myself (and get some clothes that fit)!

I secretly look forward to vaccines since it means who ever gets them will sleep all day...and probably most of the next day too. (yes its horrible to think that...that's why its a deep dark secret...but I get so much done afterwards!).

Apparently yesterday was "no housework day" and I was unaware such a day existed until it was too late, and all the housework was done...so I'm just pretending it's today, which will be my excuse for when Brandon comes home as to why the house looks like the National Guard should be called in for disaster relief.

I love that Noah is in a naked phase. When we don't have plans to go anywhere I just let him go from jammies to naked, and back to jammies at the end of the day. It really cuts down on my laundry.

And finally, while there are occasions I really do wish Eli would take a bottle (it would be nice to go out for dinner and a movie with the hubby) I secretly love that I have a perfectly legitimate excuse as to why I can't leave him with a sitter.

So there you have it...anyone else care to share?

Eli's 2 month check up.

I took Eli in for his check up today. He had his physical and vaccines. He is 24 3/4 inches long and 12lbs 8.5oz. So 95th percentile for height and 90th for weight.

He handled his shots well. He cried for a minute or so, but once he got to eat he was fine :)

Noah also had his ears looked at and they are perfect! So...everyone is healthy and happy! Finally!

Easter

Well I guess the day isn't over yet, but so far we have had a wonderful Easter with our boys.

This morning I got up with Eli (who slept for 8 straight hours! WHOOHOO!), and made breakfast (cinnamon rolls, egg casserole, and fruit). When Noah woke up we got Brandon up and watched him search for eggs. He loved it! I wasn't sure if he would be excited about it, or if he wouldn't care, but he had fun, and we had fun watching him find them.

After breakfast we relaxed a bit then took the boys outside to play (well Noah played while Eli snuggled with me!). Noah loves riding his "bike" outside, so we did that with him for awhile.

For dinner I made a mac and cheese casserole, beef brisket, baked apples and rolls, with turtle cake for dessert. These were the first big holiday meals I have actually made since we usually go somewhere for holidays, and I must say I have a new appreciation for my mom and grandmothers! That is a lot of work!

Playdate

Noah had a playdate today with his friend Isla. We met Isla and her mommy at the park after lunch and played for an hour or so before nap time.
