Brandon's trip

Every year Brandon goes away for about a week to hunt and camp with one of his friends.  This year however he is going alone, as his friends wife is also expecting and now past due!  He left this afternoon and will not be home until the 9th (unless Noah decides to come this week).  Of course I always worry when he is away, especially when he is hunting, so please send some extra prayers his way this week!

Just another update.

We had our 35 week appointment today.  It was pretty uneventful.  Noah is now measuring right on track, his heart rate was great and everything was fine with me.  I can stop taking the medication to stop contractions this weekend, but I haven't been needing lately anyway.  So he is welcome to come anytime after Saturday.  We are really just hoping that he will he here and home with us before Thanksgiving.  

Louie is getting very curious about all the new things we are bringing into the house.  He likes to wander into the nursery and look around.  We have been trying to put things up so he can get used to it, and not have it all come out at once (he is very frightened of new things so this is a big deal for him).  Hopefully he will be able to get used to having a baby in the house quickly!  He really loves kids, but we are a little nervous since he is a bit rough when he plays.  I guess we will deal with it all as it come.  

Shower

My shower was today!  It was so much fun, I have a few pics here, but most were taken on other people's camera's so I don't have them all yet.  By the way, I am 33 weeks.

32 weeks

Well I am in serious countdown mode...only 55 days until my due date!  At my last appointment the doctor made a comment about my weight gain being on the lower side, and my belly was measuring a little small (although I beg to differ).  It seems my growth has starting falling behind, so we go back in a week and are praying for lots of growth.  The doctors are not too concerned as of now, as long as I keep growing some and Noah stays active, but it does leave room for lots of worry!  Please keep our little guy in your prayers!

The Iowa City Dog Paddle

Today I took Louie to the pool for the annual Dog Paddle, where they open the public pool up for all the poochies.  Louie loved it!  he can't swim (he just sinks) so he was in the baby pool and couldn't figure out how to best walk in the water so he just pounced around.  It was so cute and fun.  

Brandon's big catch

Brandon caught this big walleye last Monday.  Louie is also very interested in the fish...we couldn't keep him away, and he just kept trying to lick the fish.  In one picture he looks like he is giving Brandon a high five!

Embracing the Belly

Well, I am at the point during this pregnancy where I am gaining weight pretty steadily, and am noticing huge changes in my size constantly!  This has been the most difficult part of my pregnancy for me.  I am just not used to seeing myself like this, and have now officially banned scales in my house!  I am trying to let go and see these changes for what they really are...our little boy growing big!  With my new size I have also inherited an abundance of annoying comments from strangers.  I guess it just comes with the territory.  My favorite is the vast number of individuals who have commented that it "looks like you had one too many beers".  I guess I just look like I have a beer gut.  I have also heard a lot of "should you be eating that?".  I also never realized how many people find it acceptable to rub a pregnant woman's belly, even if they don't know her at all!  Oh well, we are just so blessed to be having this baby that I will take it all in stride!
