The appointment went well. Noah is 13lbs 8oz (on the small side) and 25 inches, which is a little larger than average. The doc talked about starting him on solids. We will be introducing one new food a week, and keep him on cereal everyday too.
Regarding our nap issue...she said that he may just not be a good napper. He is sleeping well at night so she isn't that concerned, but said that we should continue to give him quiet time in his room everyday for as long as he will stay down. But she did check his ears and gums and everything looked good.

I'll take a sketchy napper/great night sleeper over my sketchy napper/sketchy night sleeper anyday.
I find it interesting that some many peds are recommending solids at 4 months. It seems that the norm is really changing on that topic.
He has a spit up issue which is why she is starting him on solids so early. But usually she doesn't like to start until 6 months. But yes you are right...I should not complain too much as Noah is a great night sleeper!
Sounds like it was a pretty normal 4 month check up!
Solids, it seems like it always changes. When K and J were babies the norm was 4 months, when R was little they said 4-6 months. Now they are saying 6 months unless there is other issues. *sigh* wish they would make up their minds.
Yep Kim...pretty uneventful which is always good! And I know what you mean about solids...I say, start when you think your child is ready (within reason of course). So...C is 4 months tomorrow right (the 19th?)
It's not just your ped, I've seen several moms in bloggerland saying that their peds are recommending 4 months. It's just funny how that issue always flip flops.
Quinlon started solids at just under 6 months. I intended on waiting a few more months but he got to the point where if we ate without him he SCREAMED and tried to snatch food from our hands. So we started giving him bananas, avocados and apple slices (as teethers since he had no teeth). It's all relative to the baby honestly.
Yup C is 4 months old today! He has his 4 month check up on the 1st.
But we can't start solids until he is 9 months. The only thing we actually count his real age on is immunizations.
