Eli's Party!

We celebrated Eli's second birthday with our family this weekend! I had a lot of fun planning a superhero/comic book themed party for him. Here are some pics!

This is the birthday banner I made. I cut cardstock into triangles, then cut slightly smaller triangles from comic books. I used my cricut machine to do his name, and just used red electrical tape to string it all together

Party favors. I made all the kids capes and bought little masks. Then each kid got a bag of pop rock candy which I had in little "kryptonite identification" envelopes.

Blowing out candles!

Balloon wreath I made (I made my sister finish pinning in the balloons for me...so she deserves credit too!)

Veggie tray

The cupcakes/desserts. I had so much fun making all of these! The cupcake decorations I made with superhero themed scrapbooking stickers, and cardstock

Isaiah's first month

And what a month it's been! We got off to a rocky start with Noah and Eli getting sick, and Isaiah's poor weight gain, but his first month ended pretty good!

Isaiah had gotten down to 5 lbs 4 oz, and wasn't gaining as quickly as they'd like. By his 2 week check up he had made it back up to 5 lbs 11oz, which was still a half pound under birth weight. I think the final count for Isaiah's trips into the doctor/hospital for his weight issues was 8 trips in the first month!

Yesterday he had his FINAL weight check and was a whopping 6 lbs and 15 oz, so little man is finally on the right track.

While he still looks like a teeny tiny newborn, he has still changed quite a bit this past month. His cheeks are starting to fill out, and he's definitely getting longer. He's still a sleepy guy, but he is having more alert times. He is sleeping pretty well at night. He just wakes up once, but is a night owl (like Noah) and usually doesn't go down for bed until close to midnight.

So that's that! We are looking forward to his first Christmas in a few days! And excited to see what the next month brings. Hopefully we will see his first social smile, and maybe his first coo in his second month :)

HAHA!

So I just realized in my last post I wrote "as suggested by our laceration consultant"...which should be lactation consultant. That's what lack of sleep will do to your brain :)

Update

Isaiah is 2 weeks old, and 2 days now! ANd it's been a crazy two weeks!

We brought Isaiah home the Sunday after he was born. Monday Noah went in to the doctor for pink eye, Tuesday we did some pictures of him and the boys, Wednesday the home nurse came out and did his check up and we found he had lost too much weight, and Eli started getting sick. Friday and Saturday we took him to the hospital for weight checks, and Noah got sick with a high fever. Monday Noah went in for his fever, and Isaiah had another weight check, tuesday Noah's fever spiked over 105 and I spent the day feeding Isaiah, and trying to get/keep Noah's fever down. Wednesday Noah's fever broke, and Thursday it was back...then Friday Noah went back in for the fever and we found a new ear infection, and Isaiah had his two week check up. SO...as you see...we've been pretty busy the past few weeks!

Isaiah is doing well overall. He is not gaining weight as quickly as the typical newborn does, but he's well hydrated, having lots (and lots!) of wet and poopy diapers and seems to be eating well. So for now, we will just keep doing what we are doing and taking him for frequent check ups (he goes back Tuesday for his next check up). He is a very sleepy little guy and he just won't wake up to eat unless he decides he is ready. We have tried everything to wake him up, but he just won't cooperate, and if I do manage to wake him up, he only nurses a few minute before falling back to sleep (unless it was his idea to eat). He will take a bottle sleepy, but we don't' like offering him a bottle until after he nurses well (as suggested by our laceration consultant).

So...that's what's going on in our household!
